Talking of Bangkok, if you are into reading books and i doubt any of
you have ever even picked one up. I would recommend the book
“The Damage Done: 12 years of Hell in a Bankok prison“.  Its a true story
about a bloke who tried to smuggle a load of heroin from Thailand to Australia
in the 80’s  but got caught.
The book makes British prisons look like a 5 star hotel and even makes
“Midnight Express” look pretty tame, for example as a punishment he is made
to stand in a cesspit for most of a day with the sewage up to his chin.
Go read it.
